Anaesthetic VaporiserDuring general anaesthesia, medical instrument called anaesthetic vaporisers are used to administer patients with a controlled dose of volatile anaesthetic agents like isoflurane or sevoflurane. They usually have a connection to the anaesthesia equipment and turns liquid anaesthetic agents into a gas that the patient can breathe. The anaesthesiologist can change the concentration of the anaesthetic given to the patient using the control dial or digital display on the vaporizer, which has a chamber where the liquid anaesthetic is added. Anaesthetic vaporisers comprised of a locking device to prevent unintentional anaesthetic overdoses and an interlock system that makes sure the vapour can only be delivered when the fresh gas flow.
